Although unemployment edged down to 6.0% last month, talent shortages and skills gaps are still a major issue when it comes to filling open roles, according to Monster’s Future of Work Global Report. The biggest group of workers set to enter the workforce (and hopefully fill the vacant jobs) is from Gen Z. Born around 2000, these candidates are a mix of high school and recent college graduates, and despite COVID-19, they’re poised to fill the roles needed in professional category jobs, as well as grey-collar and blue- collar industries.
